Learn More About Me
I am an internationally registered Social Worker in private practice, specialising in Child and Family therapy and family law matters. I have been providing clients with a wide range of therapeutic and family legal services for over 13 years. For 10 years I practiced in England and it was an incredible experience living abroad. The international exposure has enabled me to provide a range of support and counselling services to children, parents and caregivers of diverse personalities, cultures, nationalities, ethnicities and backgrounds.
When I'm not at my practice, I am involved in the media and appear regularly on the Expresso Morning show as a parenting expert and contribute to a variety of articles in print media. I also facilitate students at the School of Public Health and Family Medicine at the University of Cape Town.
I hold a Bachelor of Social Science (Honours) degree in Social Work from the University of Cape Town and a Postgraduate Certificate specialising in Children and Families from Kingston University London.
My therapeutic approach primarily incorporates play therapy in treating younger children and Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for older clients. I enjoy working in a multi-disciplinary manner and collaborate closely with local schools, welfare organisations and NGO's. Part of my practice also focuses on forensic social work whereby I serve as an expert witness for the Family Courts.
Life can be overwhelming and sometimes even exhausting, but I’m here to guide you and your family through any obstacles you may face. My goal is to help clients understand themselves more deeply and better cope with change.
