I am an internationally registered Social Worker in private practice, specialising in Child and Individual therapy as well forensic social work services. I have been providing clients with a wide range of therapeutic and social work services for over 13 years. For 10 years I practiced in England, working within various local authorities, family centres and Family Courts. This international exposure has enabled me to provide a range of support and counselling and welfare services to children, parents and caregivers of diverse personalities, cultures, nationalities, ethnicities and backgrounds. One of my unique skills is having a diverse understanding of various African cultures and systems.
I have a passion for striving to remove the stigmas associated with mental health. When I'm not at my practice, I am involved in the media and appear regularly on the Expresso Show (SABC 3) as a mental health expert and contribute to a variety of articles in print media.
I hold a Bachelor of Social Science (Honours) degree in Social Work from the University of Cape Town and a Postgraduate Certificate specialising in Children and Families from Kingston University, London.
I enjoy working in a multi-disciplinary manner and collaborate closely with local schools, welfare organisations and NGO's. Part of my practice also focuses on forensic social work whereby I serve as an expert witness for various Magistrates Courts in Cape Town.
I take pride in providing everyone who walks through my door with a non-judgmental environment which upholds sound therapeutic and social work ethics. Life can be overwhelming and sometimes even exhausting, but I am here to guide you through any obstacles you may face.
